Hi all--

We had a very busy week last week that ended on Sunday with our very first baby shower! It was thrown by Eric's 11 year old baseball team. We had a family shower at one of the parents house and it turned out fabulous. The kids swam, the guys ate and watched football and everyone even got together to watch us open up all of our wonderful gifts. We are so blessed to have such good people in our lives.

I'm currently sitting up at the hospital being tested for gestational diabetes. I failed my initial test last week by 3 stinking points so now I have to sit here and get my blood drawn 4 times in a four hour period! blah! on top of that you have to be fasting for 8 hours prior, so basically I'm starving right now! ha. Hopefully all goes well and this will be the end of this journey.

Nash continues to do well and is very active. Especially after I just drank 100 grams of sugar!

Eric's parents came last week and stayed the night with us in our new house. They recently got back from their summer vacation in Colorado and it was good to finally get them out to see the new house.

There are two baby showers this coming weekend. One on Saturday in Granbury with Lyn and her friends and another on Sunday with our Lifegroup! This baby is so blessed already!

Wow! I just looked at the countdown on the top of the page and saw 82 days left! I almost fell out of my chair! It seems to be flying by and I don't see it slowing down any time soon.

Biggest news--we are settled in our house!! yay! We love it out here and I think Maggie and Sosie love it more than we do. They are in dog heaven. We recently finished having the ENTIRE backyard fenced in...which adds up to well over an acre. They went from having a 12x12 patch of grass to this and now they don't know what to do w/ themselves! We are having a lot of fun making the place our own. Eric's next big mission is finding a riding lawnmower. It only took him push mowing the front yard once(about 2 hours worth) to figure that one out. He told me " I can either by a riding lawnmower or be skinny again!" ha!!!We sit out on the back porch almost every night like an 85 year old couple just enjoying the surroundings and quietness.

Eric also just finished up the most recent flip house that he was doing and it was under contract within days of being on the market! yay!! I think he did an excellent job and I will post some pics to brag on him. When we started on the house it was a 1950's house that had NEVER been updated. That will help you appreciate the after pics even more.

Mr Nash or Nash-man as Eric already calls him is doing great! he moves all the time now. We recently found out he prefers the breech position so we are talking to him daily about pros of turning head down in hopes that he is listening to us just this once!

Lots of baby showers coming up! I'm getting very excited to start putting his room together.

Wow! I can't believe how fast the time has gone by! A lot has been happening around here lately so I will try and catch everyone up. We officially move into our brand new house tomorrow!! yay! It has been a long and stressful process but we are at the finish line. My mom came over today and helped us pack..fyi..if anyone is in need of some assistance packing just ask her...she came in here today and whipped us into shape. We literally had to kick her out the door before she started packing the dogs in boxes! ha.

We recently got back from a well deserved vacation to New York to visit one of my very oldest friends Sarah Warren-Birdsall. It was so wonderful to spend some time w her and I hope to do it sooner than later next time! After our visit we jetted up to Maine to attend Matt and Adria's wedding. Matt is Eric's little brother. We enjoyed all our time we spent with everyone.

Not a whole lot to share in the baby world. Nash continues to be very active. He also continues to make his mommy gain a lot of weight. (it is totally his fault!) He continues to measure large, but I can't complain about that. It is a blessing that he is healthy and continues to thrive.

Baby Nash--22 week update

So we finally have a name finalized for this little one. His name will be Nash Tomlinson. Eric has made the decision to not have a middle name given so I guess if he doesn't like his name he's pretty screwed huh?? ha! I myself find this decision pretty funny considering we both have fathers who don't go by their given first name! Many of you know Lyn doesn't go by her given name either!

Anywho...things are smooth sailing around here for now. The next month will be super busy for us though. Eric is out of town basically off and on for the next 3 weeks. We leave for Matt's wedding the last week of August and then come home only to move from our house and move into a brand new house that hopefully will be done by then! We are moving to Royse City--just east of Rockwall. We will be approximately 20 mins from my parents with this move. We just finally decided there was no reason to stay this far away from both sets of grandparents during this exciting time and I won't have to change jobs this way!

20 week belly pic

Hello All-

I didn't realize how long it had been since I have posted! I apologize and hope to become a more frequent blogger. We had our 20 week appt/sono yesterday and everything went perfectly. They measured all of his bones and looked at his brain and heart closely. The sonographer even managed to count all of his fingers and toes to make sure he had the right amount.

When I first got on the table she asked if I had been feeling any flutters yet and when I told her it was more like punches that even Eric could see and feel she seemed shocked and said that it was very early for a first baby. But boy did she quickly understand why I was feeling all this when she started the sonogram...turns out this kid is huge! When I say huge--he's measuring in the 99th percentile in size and a week and a half bigger than his due date! He moved during the entire sono and I only felt it once, which makes me wonder--what is he doing when I feel him?? Acrobatics?? Maybe he's going to be a circus performer?!?!

My doctor said he would be very shocked if I lasted anywhere close to the due date if he keeps growing like this...Eric was so in awe of the sonogram..it was cute to see him be so suprised by how much the baby had changed since the last time he saw him. Since we got home he just keeps telling me to take it easy and has been doing everything he can for me. So sweet to see him care so much.

Here are the latest pics from 16 weeks along with some of our pics from our trip to Omaha/College World Series. My hope was that by adding some distractions of other pictures in it will distract you all from realizing how huge my butt is (: We had some GREAT seats for the Texas/Arizona State game! Thanks to Tim for that!

16 week check-up

I had my 16 week check-up today and everything is right on schedule. The heartbeat sounded perfect and the baby measured right on track. There was no sonogram this time so we will wait until the next month to have another sono and confirm what this baby is. I say confirm because I had a co-worker sonogram me this past weekend and it is most definitely a BOY!! there was no doubt in anyones mind who was in the room that it was most definitely male. My mom was spending the day with me so she got to come to the appt and hear the heartbeat. She thought that was pretty cool.

I don't have much more news from now...I will have Eric take some belly pics soon and post them. It is impressive how much I've grown recently. All my educational material tells me that the baby is doubling in size and weight right about now, so I'm using that as my excuse for any weight gain.

My mom and I went browsing around a few baby stores today to try and get an idea of what my taste is in bedding/furniture. I'm thinking at this point that coming up with an original is the way to go...I will keep you guys posted.
